I would have preferred if the open side of the hanger faced opposite from the open side of the hook.
These are the strangest pants hangers I've ever purchased. The hook at the top is small and will NOT fit on a round closet rod, it will fit on the newer slim closet rods. Also the opening where you hang the pants opens towards the back of the closet. So you can't pull your pants off without removing the hanger. Sent them straight to the Goodwill.
I use the padded pant hangers to hang my knit dresses.
